Dexter was operating on Charlotte Street, with six banners (most of three are pictured) each airbrushed with graphics that strongly evoke the season.
The art was hung on the imposing fence of Holy Name Convent and for a fee, you could get an "instant", a photo of yourself on Polaroid film on Carnival Tuesday with a backdrop that you'll find nowhere else.
A stone's throw from where Dexter was operating, more than a dozen tents had been pitched in Memorial Park offering different flavours of gambling. Don't know about you, but I know which business model I think is worthier.
